Blocked Categories Workflow for Ad Sales & Ad Ops
Networks have an additional control option when vetting category conflicts between a brand and a show. In addition to issuing a Warn indication, users can now choose to Block a category conflict. This new action provides stronger protection by reducing the risk of relationship damage, brand-safety violations, and unnecessary time spent by sales teams and show partners.
To support brands with nuanced category considerations, users can opt to override a Block or Warn decision. In these cases, a justification is required to ensure clarity and accountability.
Vetting requests created by Ad Sales will continue to follow the established workflow and will undergo an Ad Ops review before being sent to the show(s).
In the show list the user will now see two icons:
- Warn: Category displays warning but vetting is still allowed
- Block: Category is blocked and vetting is disabled.

To proceed in selecting a blocked category simply hover over the Block icon and select Override.

In order to proceed, the user will type in a Justification that will be sent to the show. Click ‘Submit Override Request’ and the show will be selected, allowing the user to submit the vetting request.
Ad Ops will review all Ad Sales override requests before submitting to the show.
