Ad Approval Workflow
If your Ad Unit requires the Approval of a stakeholder before it’s published, you will see a checkbox with the legend “Ad Unit needs Approval before Publishing”. under Advanced Settings. By Clicking on email Address, you will be able to add up to 3 approver emails (this can be edited later).

Remove or Edit Approvers: If you need to update the approvers that you have entered for your Ad Unit, you can do it by clicking on the following icon:

This will open the approvers list, where you can Add, Edit, or Remove approver emails.

Once your Ad Unit is completed and you are ready to send it for review, click the Publish button, and the following screen will be displayed for you to confirm the information entered and share some comments for the approvers.

Note: Currently you only need one approval to proceed, so the first approver to reply will be able to approve or reject the Ad Unit. Access to the Ad Unit will be on a “read only” mode for all approvers who view the Ad. The checkbox “Automatically publish on approval” will proceed to publish the Ad Unit as soon as it is approved, so use this carefully.
Once you Click on Submit you should see the following message in the upper-right corner:

Also this Ad Unit will be moved to “Versions for approval”, which also means that it cannot be edited.

E-Mails:
The approvers will receive a message from Frequency with your comments and a link to review the Ad Unit, plus some information about the Campaign such as Advertiser, Campaign, Ad Unit, and Version.

By clicking on the link received, the approver will be able to interact with a Read-Only version of the Ad Unit and perform 3 actions:
- Add comments
- Reject
- Accept

Add comments: This can be done by moving the mouse over the area at the right of the resources where a comment icon will appear.
By clicking on the icon, the approver will be able to enter multiple comments.

Note: as of now it’s not possible to Edit the comments once posted.
Reject: By clicking on Reject button, the following pop-up will be displayed for the approver to add any comments.

Once rejected you will receive an email from Frequency with the status of your Ad Unit and the comment entered by the Approver.

Inside the AdBuilder, this version of the Ad Unit will change its status to “Rejected” and will exist as a Read-Only version where you can review the approver comments and create a copy of the Ad Unit to correct or create a new Draft.

Approve: If the stakeholder decides to move forward and approve the Ad Unit, the following pop-up will be displayed.

After clicking on “Approve” one more time, the Ad Unit status will change to “Approved” and you will receive a confirmation email along with the comments entered.

Your Ad Unit version will now appear as Approved in the AdBuilder.

You should be able to view any comments written by the approver here.

Now you can proceed to Publish your approved version of the Ad Unit and go live!
